THE SECOND OPERATIONAL STEP TOWARDS COMPLETE NUMERICAL INTEGRATION OF SATELLITE OBSERVATIONS WITH CONVENTIONAL DATA.

Abstract

A method for numerical utilization of observations from meteorological satellites through the use of a simple numerical bogusing scheme is illustrated. The procedure uses bounded areas and proportionalities to determine the amounts of modifications required to have numerical analyses compatible with observations from satellites within areas of sparse conventional data. This method may be easily programmed and offers enough flexibility in the types and amounts of required modifications so that a computer can perform this task efficiently. (Author)
