INVESTIGATION OF SCALAR FEED MONOPULSE CAPABILITY.

Abstract

The report presents the results of an investigation into the feasibility of modifying the scalar feed for two- and four-horn monopulse applications. The scalar feed itself offers low noise, low spillover, low cross polarization, wide bandwidth, and circular symmetry in its patterns, making it an excellent feed for reflector antenna systems. These advantages are retained when using the scalar feed in multimode monopulse systems, but this is not yet true in two and four single mode monopulse systems. (Author)
