THE APPLICATION OF ADVANCED THERMOELECTRIC-MATERIALS TECHNOLOGY TO MILITARY GROUND AIR CONDITIONERS.

Abstract

The ternary alloy, Ag21.3Sb26.8Te51.9, found promising as a thermoelectric cooling material in previous research, was improved by doping with iodine, by partial substitution of selenium for tellurium and by special thermal treatment during specimen preparation. Values of the figure of merit up to 0.00168/K were obtained by these methods, compared with (0.00143-0.00148)/K for the base alloy.
