INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY IN SOCIALIST COUNTRIES.

Abstract

A comparison on a very broad level of the protection provided for inventions, trademarks, and other industrial designs is made of countries behind the iron curtain, particularly the USSR, Poland and Czechoslovakia, with the protection afforded to patents and trademarks in the United States. Discussion of the particular statutory protection and the procedures for obtaining this protection in the USSR, Poland and Czechoslovakia is directed to answer the questions whether there is any reason for western patent owners to seek protection of their invention in socialist countries and whether it is of any value to apply for a Certificate of Authorship or similar rights.
