HIGH-POWER ELECTRONICALLY TUNABLE BANDPASS FILTER.

Abstract

The report presents the results of a program aimed at determining the feasibility of a high power, narrowband bandpass filter capable of being tuned electronically at an interpulse tuning rate. Extensive theoretical studies were undertaken relative to several different technical approaches. The approaches studied in detail included electron beam tuning, ferroelectric and/or ferromagnetic materials, nonreflective phase-shift filter approach, and a branch line channel separation filter. From the latter approach the concept of a 'self-tuning' filter was developed. (Author)
