ZINC INORGANIC SILICATES AS PROTECTIVE COATINGS FOR STEEL DECKS OF FLOATING DRYDOCKS, IN-SERVICE TESTS OF 14 COATINGS EXPOSED FOR 35 MONTHS.

Abstract

Fourteen zinc inorganic silicate coatings were applied to steel deck sections and work areas of a floating drydock. Five postcured zinc inorganic silicate coatings satisfactorily protected these steel surfaces for 35 months. Self-cured zinc inorganic coatings gave, in general, satisfactory protection for 25 months. (Author)
