1.5 KW FUEL CELL POWER SOURCE AND VOLTAGE CONTROLLER. PART I. DESULFURIZATION OF LIQUID HYDROCARBON FUELS. PART II. DC-DC VOLTAGE CONTROLLER/REGULATOR FOR 1.5 KW FUEL CELL POWER SOURCE. PART III. TESTING OF 1.5 KW FUEL CELL POWER SOURCE AND VOLTAGE CONTROLLER.

Abstract

The purpose of this program was threefold: (1) Desulfurization of liquid hydrocarbon fuels; the objective of which was to investigate the suitability of using high surface area metals as a means of desulfurizing JP-4 fuels for use in a 1.5 KW fuel cell power source. (2) DC-DC voltage controller/regulator for 1.5 KW fuel cell power source; the objective of which was to conduct a detailed design study and analysis of the output voltage controller requirements when integrated with a 1.5 KW fuel cell power source. An experimental model voltage controller was constructed to verify analytical studies and demonstrate operating feasibility. (3) Testing of 1.5 KW fuel cell power source and voltage controller; the objective of which was to operate and evaluate an experimental acid electrolyte 1.5 KW fuel cell power source previously built.
