FAMILY OF ENGINEER CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT (FAMECE).

Abstract

This Technical Information Report describes the basic requirements for a family of Engineer construction equipment. This equipment will consist of a highly efficient power unit, to be available to the Army by 1975, and proven construction work units compatible with the power unit. Combining the single power unit with any one work unit minimizes the amount of equipment needed to meet the many varied requirements of military construction. Construction tasks for which the family is being developed include dozing, scraping, grading, excavating, loading, hauling, dumping, spreading, soil stabilization, and soil compaction. Transportable and deliverable by air, the equipment will be used by airborne, airmobile, combat, construction, and service organizations to accomplish the Engineer construction mission in the theater of operations.
