DESIGN OF STANDARD LINE OF VENTED SILVER-ZINC BATTERIES.

Abstract

Cycling of preprototype BB-465()/U cells was terminated when cells ceased to yield 60 per cent of rated capacity at the five (5) hour rate. This occurred after 290 cycles. Prototype cells have been constructed in a finalized design using molded cases and covers as well as hardware items of frozen design. These have been subjected to two (2) formation cycles as well as low temperature, high rate discharges and dynamic environmental testing. Construction of production models for acceptance testing and delivery to USAECOM is also in progress.
