EMERGENCY PERSONNEL RESCUE RADIO SET, AN/URC-68.

Abstract

An emergency beacon and voice transceiver, light and small enough to be carried in a pocket of the standard flight or fatigue uniform, is being developed to enable downed aircrew members to transmit homing information to Army, Air Force, and Navy search and rescue aircraft at ranges of at least 20 miles, greatly increasing their chances of early rescue.
