SUPERSONIC MULTIPLE BOMB RACK GROUND EJECTION TESTS.
Abstract
The report describes a series of ground ejection tests conducted on the Supersonic Multiple Bomb Rack (SMBR). The tests provide information about the dynamic ejection characteristics of the SMBR for various weight stores, rack station location and ejector orifice combinations when using the F4C wing mounted configuration. In order to provide data of maximum utilization for any aircraft the elastic characteristics of pylons, wings, adapters, etc., were eliminated. A high speed camera and two pressure transducers mounted in the test unit were used to obtain ejector force versus time, ejector piston displacement versus time, and store center of gravity and pitch rate at the end of the ejection stroke.
