COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR SIZING GAS TURBINE COUNTERFLOW REGENERATORS.

Abstract

A computer program was written for use in sizing gas turbine counter-flow regenerators. The program simulates the semi-open gas turbine regenerative cycle under constant load conditions. Inputs to the program include compression ratio, turbine inlet temperature, component efficiencies, horsepower output, regenerator core geometry. External regenerator core dimensions are varied and various outputs are computed such as thermal efficiency, mass flow rate, total relative pressure drop, regenerator effectiveness and temperatures and pressures at all key points in the cycle.
