STUDY OF MACHINE - AIDED POST EDITING.
Abstract
The report provides a detailed description of the activities and results of the work performed under Contract AF 19(628)-6038. The primary responsibility under this contract was to determine the feasibility of machine-aided post editing at FTD. Error correction analysis was used to develop an experimental post-editing system (XPE). Specifications for an operational machine-aided post-editing system were developed and are presented herein. The economic feasibility of an operation post-editing system is discussed in this report and improvements to the machine-translation facility at FTD are recommended. Included is a recommendation to implement an interim single-console machine-aided post-editing system at FTD. (Author)
