PHOTRAN A GENERAL PURPOSE PHOTON TRANSPORT PROGRAM IN COMPLEX GEOMETRY. VOLUME IV. MODIFICATION I PROGRAM.
Abstract
PHOTRAN is a Monte Carlo photon transport program which was developed to study the time-dependent transport of radiation through an arbitrary geometrical configuration constructed of a variety of materials. The documentation of this program was originally divided into three volumes. Volume I contains a description of the basic data and the theory and includes a user's manual. Volume II contains a complete description of all subroutines in the original program, including flow diagrams and listings. Volume III contains a summary of results from some application studies. This fourth volume of the series has been added to describe changes and additions which have been made to the original program described in Volumes I and II in order to improve its applicability and facilitate its use. The changes in the program described in Volume IV include a new method for calculating energy deposition, an importance sampling option, a 'one-dimensional' option for slab problems, a new point source option, and a number of modifications which do not involve changes in the physics but are designed only to facilitate use. Detailed descriptions of new and modified subroutines are given including flow diagrams and listings. (Author)
