PROJECT MALLARD. DIRECTORY DEVELOPMENT STUDY.

Abstract

This report describes the work accomplished in the Project MALLARD/Directory Development Study. The purpose of the study is to develop various numbering techniques suitable for use in MALLARD. The study has resulted in fourteen numbering systems, each with its particular advantages. More important than the individual numbering systems, however, are the techniques for deriving them. These techniques can be combined in the most advantageous ways to satisfy requirements as the MALLARD System concepts mature. (Author)
