ANALYTICAL MANUAL. VOLUME II. PLAN GENERATION SUBSYSTEM. THE NMCSSC QUICK-REACTING GENERAL WAR GAMING SYSTEM (QUICK).
Abstract
The National Military Command System Support Center (NMCSSC) of the Defense Communications Agency, acting in support of the Joint War Games Agency (JWGA), has developed the Quick-Reacting General War Gaming System (QUICK). Contract support has been provided by the Lambda Corporation. QUICK is a two-sided war gaming system, with automated data storage and handling, plan generation, and simulation. It has been designed to assist the military planner in JWGA and other groups within DoD in examining various facets of possible general wars under a variety of conditions of force postures, strategies, and starting conditions. The System has been programmed in FORTRAN 63 for use on a Control Data Corporation 1604B computer. This volume is one of three volumes which comprise the Analytical Manual. The manual provides a detailed description of the System's methodology for the nonprogrammer analysts of prospective user agencies. Companion documents are: General Description (a non-technical description for senior management personnel); Action Officer's Manual ( a guide for the staff officer or manager) (AD-828 916); User's Manual (detailed instructions for application of the System); Operator's Manual (instructions and procedures for the computer operators) (AD-828 915); and Program Description (detailed information required for System maintenance and modification.
