LOW-SPEED WIND TUNNEL TESTS ON 15, 25, 40 AND 55 DEGREE SEMI-VERTEX ANGLE CONES TO DETERMINE THE SUPPORT EFFECTS ON FORCE COEFFICIENTS.

Abstract

The primary purpose of this test was to determine the aerodynamic tare effects of the support on the cone force data and cone base pressure data. The cones were tested at dynamic pressures of 7.7, 26.2, 57.6, 104.7, 114.5, and 135.5 lbs/sq. ft. which correspond to Reynolds numbers of .475, .877, 1.300, 1.753, 1.833, and 1.994 million, respectively, based on a one-foot unit of length, an average test temperature of 91.4F and an average barometric pressure of 30.03 inches of mercury.
