FRICTION WEAR, TRIBOLOGY AND RELATED INDUSTRIAL RESEARCH IN THE NETHERLANDS.

Abstract

Visits to industrial research groups in The Netherlands are reported. These include three divisions of the government laboratories, TNO, and the commercial laboratories of the corporations Philips (Eindhoven) and N.V. Werkspoor (Amsterdam). Items discussed include: lubrication, friction and wear, fibers, gas turbines, electrets, ship fouling, precision machining, and Stirling engines for power and refrigeration. Organizational factors are described where pertinent. (Author)
