HIGH-TEMPERATURE-RESISTANT POLYMER RESEARCH.

Abstract

During the quarter, 2- and 4-biphenyl(phenyl)phosphinic, alpha-naphthyl(phenyl)phosphinic, bis(m-trifluoromethylphenyl)phosphinic, trifluoromethyl(phenyl)phosphinic, and n-heptafluoropropyl(phenyl)phosphinic acids, and beryllium 2-biphenyl (phenyl)phosphinate, phosphafluorinate, and bis(m-trifluoromethylphenyl)phosphinate were prepared. Reactions of trifluoromethyl(phenyl)phosphinic acid with beryllium acetylacetonate, and bis-n-heptafluoropropylphosphinic and n-heptafluoropropyl(phenyl)phosphinic acids with beryllium hexafluoroacetylacetonate were studied. Aluminum phosphinates were prepared by reaction of aluminum acetylacetonate with dimethylphosphinic, di-n-butylphosphinic, diphenylphosphinic, and bis-n-heptafluoropropylphosphinic acids. The reactions of tungsten (VI) chloride with sulfamic acid and benzenesulfonamide were studied. Attempts were made to make vinyl and nitrate derivatives from alpha-sulfanuric chloride. The thermal stabilities of the beryllium and aluminum phosphinates and of alpha-sulfanuric chloride were studied by DTA and TGA. (Author)
