A SURVEY OF ARMY AUTOMATED COST MODELS.

Abstract

This survey is the first documentation of automated cost models employed within the Department of the Army. It is designed to catalog and describe all cost models which are either operational or under development for the benefit of personnel in cost research and cost analysis. With the increasing requirements in the Department of the Army for rapid transmission of both raw and refined data, Army cost analysts are experiencing an increasing need for information, at all levels of Army cost analysis. Included in this survey of computerized cost models submitted by Army Headquarters Agencies and Major Field Commands are models developed prior to 31 December 1967 and models planned for development prior to 30 June 1968. The success of this publication depends on the accurate flow of information concerning the cost models employed by all elements of the Army. As this information becomes more useful in reference, more tabs with detailed accounts of equations and program formats will be possible.
