EVALUATION OF COMPUTER PROGRAMS FOR SYSTEM PERFORMANCE EFFECTIVENESS. VOLUME II. COMPUTER PROGRAMS - SUMMARIES AND EVALUATIONS.
Abstract
Volume II of this two-volume report contains the computer program summaries in the prime areas and evaluations of a selected portion of these programs having application to System Performance Effectiveness (SPE). NASL interest, computer program availability, and level of effort available guided the final selection of programs which were actually evaluated. The primary areas of search were cost estimation and cost trade-off and optimization procedures. Programs were also identified in the areas of statistics and cost-maintainability trade-off. A summary of each program of interest was first obtained and programs were selected from these to be evaluated in detail. The summary is a single page briefly describing the program, availability, input, output, and use to SPE analyses. The evaluation contains further detailed information such as a description of the analysis procedure, input and output, evaluation as to capability and efficiency, conclusions, example, listing (if not available in the literature or from the authors of the program), and any special programming instructions which should be noted. Volume I of this report primarily concerns search results with supporting discussion to better indicate areas of concentration and to bring together the search findings. (Author)
