ON THE SCIENTIFIC RELATIONSHIPS IN PLANT PROTECTION RESEARCH BETWEEN INSTITUTES IN THE SOVIET UNION AND IN THE GERMAN DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC. (UEBER DIE WISSENSCHAFTLICHEN BEZICHUNGEN IN DER PFLANZENSCHUTZFORSCHUNG ZWISCHEN INSTITUTEN IN DE SOWJOTUNION UND DER DEUTSCHEN DEMOKRATISCHEN REPUBLIK).

Abstract

The USSR and East Germany re-established the scientific relations pertaining to questions of plant protection shortly after the end of World War II. The close collaboration of scientists in Soviet and German agencies was motivated by the need to secure adequate nourishment in both war-torn countries. Today, the collaboration between the State Plant Quarantine Service of the GDR and the State Inspection for Plant Protection and Quarantine of the USSR is based upon the bilateral agreement between the GDR and the USSR concerning collaboration in the area of plant protection and quarantine.
