THE EFFECT OF SIMULATED FISSION PRODUCTS IN THE INTER-ELECTRODE SPACING OF A THERMIONIC DIODE.

Abstract

The development of the vehicles, the thermionic diode-envelope systems for high-temperature operation, and the monitoring systems are discussed. The spatial distribution of positive ions in the plasma is presented for a diode operating in the ignited mode. The calculation is preliminary to the determination of the effects of impurities in the inter-electrode spaces. (Author)
