REVISED PROPOSAL FOR AERODYNAMIC HEATING TESTS IN THE NACA LANGLEY UNITARY PLAN WIND TUNNEL,

Abstract

Phases I and II of the aerodynamic heating tests have been completed at the NACA Langley Unitary Plan wind tunnel. The purpose of the tests was to determine the effect of variously shaped protuberances on the convective heat transfer coefficients to an otherwise flat plate in turbulent supersonic flow. The purpose of this report is to present the proposed test schedule for Phase III of the NACA Langley aerodynamic heating tests. Phase III is scheduled to be run from 15 September 1958 through 26 September 1958. The models to be tested in Phase III are the same models as were used in the two previous tests. (Author)
