LOW ENERGY ATOMIC AND MOLECULAR COLLISION RESEARCH IN THE NETHERLANDS.

Abstract

A brief summary of current research in Holland on atomic collision processes at energies below 50 eV is presented. Even though the activities of only three research groups are described, viz., the Institute for Atomic and Molecular Physics (Amsterdam), the Physics Laboratory (University of Utrecht), and the Molecular Physics Group (Technical University of Eindhoven), it is felt that these activities represent a major fraction of Dutch research in this area at the present time. Emphasis is placed on the use of atomic and molecular beam methods for the examination of elastic, inelastic and reactive scattering processes in the gas phase and at solid surfaces. (Author)
