INTEGRATED ENGINEERING AND SERVICE TESTS OF DUST CONTROL MATERIALS

Abstract

Test objectives were to determine the technical performance and safety characteristics of the dust control materials. The materials (three asphalt type and three emulsion-type) were emplaced on airfields at three test sites with different type soils, viz, Dyess AFB (clay); Eglin AFB (sand); and Fort Leonard Wood (silt). Each of the test materials was damaged by rotor downwash of a CH-47A Helicopter and/or propwash of a C-130E Aircraft.
