Abstract

The text has been prepared to meet a specific requirement as a reference for instruction in 'elements of armament engineering,' a one-semester course in applied engineering analysis conducted by the Department of Ordnance at the United States Military Academy, for members of the First (Senior) Class. It represents the application of military, scientific, and engineering fundamentals to the analysis, design and operation of weapons systems, including nuclear components. It is not intended to fully orient or familiarize the student in weapons employment or nomenclature.
