DETERMINATION OF STATIC AND DYNAMIC PRESSURE DECAY RELEASE CURVES FOR LATE 'A' AND 'B' SERIES,
Abstract
The use of higher thrust engines on the late A and B Series missiles required changes in the launcher hold-down and release systems. New release cylinders were designed which required higher pressure to provide the increased force necessary to hold-down the missile during the thrust build-up period. To insure successful launcher operation, a physical check on operating characteristics during a simulated launch was run at Point Loma, after the capabilities of the new release cylinders and the release systems had been established. This report, one of a series, covers the release system check-out for late A and B Series using the Barksdale Valve 7-08396-1. (Author)
