MAN IN SPACE: METABOLIC DATA, STRESSES ENCOUNTERED, AND GROUND TEST FACILITIES,

Abstract

The paper discusses the problem of providing man with the environment necessary to his survival, comfort, and optimal performance in the space vehicle system. Consideration is given to the following: Data on man's metabolism -- oxygen requirement, carbon dioxide release, nutrient food requirement, non-metabolized food bulk requirement, water requirement, heat output; Acceleration; Ground development and test program.
