EXPERIMENTS ON SLAMMING OF SHIP FLAT BOTTOM STRUCTURAL MODELS.

Abstract

This report presents the results of drop tests of two 1/4-scale structural models. The models were flat bottom and represented the structure of a United States Coast Guard vessel. The test results were analyzed and correlated with predicted results using the theory discussed in referenced reports. The study revealed points of importance which are summarized in the report together with a discussion of the structural damage phenomena. (Author)
