SHUTTER TESTER.

Abstract

A portable, battery powered, instrument to test the timing accuracy of shutters in hand-held cameras (used in Air Force ground operations) has been developed. Consideration was given to several testing techniques. The selected method employs light passage through the shutter to a small photosensor and the integration of this illumination with time. Two types of measurements are possible: total open time and effective exposure time; both are made over a range of 1/2000 second to 80 seconds at accuracies within ten percent. The unit is approximately book size with a storage compartment for the associated light source and photosensor. (Author)
