THE EFFECT OF WATER INJECTION ON THE THERMAL RADIATION FROM OXYGEN-HYDROCARBON ROCKET EXHAUST FLAMES.

Abstract

It was found that reduction in thermal radiation from an oxygen-hydrocarbon rocket exhaust flame of 50% or greater might be achieved with the addition of approximately 10% water, by weight, to propellants, with an attendant performance loss on the order of only 2%. (Author)
