ASTRONAUTICS HYDRAULIC COMPONENT CONTAMINATION QUALITY CONTROL PROCEDURE (RECOMMENDED),

Abstract

The recommended quality control contamination procedure (sampling-filtering processes and standards) herein set forth is believed to be presently attainable by industry. The test lab recommends it be adopted until industry can further refine contamination control techniques to meet the demands of more severe standards. Oil samples from hydraulic components are filtered through filter discs to distribute the suspended contamination upon the surface of the filter. A photomicrograph of part of each filter disc is examined visually and compared to a standard photograph to determine each component's acceptability. (Author)
