LARGE ELASTIC DEFLECTION OF A UNIFORMLY LOADED MEMBRANE STRIP,

Abstract

This investigation concerns the large elastic deflection of a thin membrane strip with clamped ends that is subjected to a constant pressure loading that always acts normal to the deflected middle surface. assumed that the strip thickness does not change during deformation. A closed-form solution of the governing set of differential equations is derived, and numerical results giving pertinent output quantities are presented graphically. The information given here has a direct application to certain weather curtain problems. (Author)
