MATRIX METHOD FOR PERFORMING BENDING VIBRATION ANALYSES,

Abstract

The report develops an improved matrix method of performing bending vibration analyses of beams. The major advantages of this method are shown to be: (1) The utilization of 'overall' structural influence coefficients. (2) The ability to capitalize on well developed algebraic methods. (3) The adaptability to machine computation. Illustrative examples are shown for the calculation of the first bending mode and natural frequency of both the cantilever and the free-free beams.
