VHF FILTER CRYSTAL RESEARCH.

Abstract

Progress was made toward the experimental realization of a new method for fabricating CdS-quartz composite resonators. Additional data were obtained on CdS single crystal resonators which support the conclusion that the frequency-temperature coefficients are relatively insensitive to the orientation angle between the c-axis and the normal to the electroded surfaces. This fact increases the practicality of CdS-quartz composite resonators with a zero frequency-temperature coefficient at room temperature. An approximate theory was developed for CdS which is in good agreement with the data on the frequency-temperature coefficients. The frequency response of an inverted mesa resonator was shown to be relatively free of spurious modes at 380 MHz. (Author)
