DEVELOPMENT OF 1-KILOWATT, 1-KILOVOLT AUDIO TRANSISTOR AND DRIVER TRANSISTOR FOR SONAR APPLICATIONS.

Abstract

The effects of emitter ballasting on beta fall off and changes made in the emitter wafer to improve high current beta are described. Results of transistor pressings made this interval are reviewed. A complete set of data on several packaged output and driver devices is presented. The results clearly demonstrate the feasibility of using the fused overlay technique for the fabrication of high power transistors and the advantages of a double heat sunk, hermetically glassed pellet.
