VIDI: VISUAL INPUT DETECTION INSTRUMENTATION,

Abstract

The report describes a study of various techniques for sensing and recording an individual's head and eye position for the purpose of selecting the best Visual Input Detection Instrumentation (VIDI) system for use in evaluating Atlas GSE. Such a system must impose little or no restraint upon the console operator in the performance of his functions. The system selected as most suitable records the visual scene before the subject with a head-mounted camera. Superimposed on this view is a spot of light reflected from the cornea of his non-dominant eye which indicates his point of fixation. (Author)
