TRIBOLOGY CENTERS IN ENGLAND.

Abstract

The formation of research and consulting centers at Leeds, Risley and Swansea is described. These centers are intended to specialize in the fields of friction, wear, lubrication and bearing design for which the term tribology has been coined. The scope and projected activities of these groups are outlined, along with impressions gained from visits at the time of formation. The composition of the principal government committees in the field of tribology is listed. Outlines of a technical seminar and a postgraduate course in tribology are included. (Author)
