AEROMAGNETIC SURVEY OF TAMPICO BANK.

Abstract

The U. S. Naval Oceanographic Office conducted a special aeromagnetic survey of the Tampico Bank in the Gulf of Mexico to provide magnetic data and visually inspect the area to help ascertain if any shoal areas are present. No shoal areas were observed and the main bathymetric feature of the Tampico Bank had no magnetic expression. A smaller bathymetric feature in the area exhibited a small negative magnetic anomaly.
