DOCUMENTATION OF ASTRO MATHEMATICAL PROCESSES.

Abstract

A computer program is described which performs a least squares solution for orbit parameters, equipment biases and positions of observing stations. Various kinds of satellite observations may be used, with or without a priori weights for the relative or absolute positions of the observing stations. The orbit is computed by numerical integration of the equations of motion; the time required for the integration of the perturbation equation for orbit constants and aerodynamic parameters may be reduced, when appropriate, by truncating the gravity terms in the perturbation equations while retaining full precision in the force equations. The program also includes a segment for filtering and aggregating Doppler satellite observations and segments for updating of elements, conversions among position and velocity, osculating orbital elements and mean orbital elements. Summary reports are prepared with the program in tabular and graphical form. (Author)
