HIGH-TEMPERATURE-RESISTANT POLYMER RESEARCH.

Abstract

During the quarter, methyl(phenyl)phosphinic, 4-biphenyl(phenyl)phosphinic, di-n-butylphosphinic, and diphenylphosphinic acids, and beryllium and aluminum methyl(phenyl)phosphinates were prepared. The solution polymerization of beryllium acetylacetonate with methyl(phenyl)phosphinic acid was studied. The thermal properties of beryllium and aluminum phosphinates were examined by DTA and TGA. Molecular weight studies were made of beryllium 2-biphenyl(phenyl), 4-biphenyl(phenyl), and methyl(phenyl)phosphinate polymers. A laminate of beryllium methyl(phenyl)phosphinate was made. Investigation of the sulfanuric polymer system continued. (Author)
