DEVELOPMENT TENDENCIES IN HIGH-VACUUM ENGINEERING (ENTWICKLUNGSTENDENZEN DER HOCHVAKUUMTECHNIK).

Abstract

The article is the first part of the text of the author's lecture delivered at the meeting on 'High-Vacuum Physics and Technology,' held in Dresden between April 26 and 29, 1965. The following subjects were discussed: vapor deposition in vacuo, measuring the thickness of vapor-deposited layers, vacuum pumps on a diffusion basis, vapor barriers, cold traps, mechanical vacuum pumps, oil diffusion pumps, absorption pumps, cryogenic pumps, and ion getter pumps. The latest achievements and trends for future development in these subjects were reviewed in a general manner (to be continued). Original article has: 14 figures. English translation: (Author)
