COUPLED POTENTIAL FLOW PAST INCLINED BODIES OF REVOLUTION AT HIGH SPEEDS,

Abstract

The three-dimensional equation for potential flow is linearized under the assumption of moderate supersonic speeds and a small angle of attack. It is reduced to a two-dimensional system by assuming a Fourier type solution. Potentials are written in the form of definite integrals generated by source distribution. Each source is a product of a Chebyshev polynominal of the first kind and a factor which is a function of the axial coordinate and of the variable of integration. This is in contrast to the classic theory where the source is assumed to be a function of the variable of integration only. (Author)
