RADIO EMISSION IN THE OUTER CORONA.
Abstract
Evidence has been obtained at the Clark Lake radio astronomy station for the existence of radio emission at 26.3 mc/sec in the outer corona of the sun. Our observations indicate that an emission region existed at the height of four to five solar radii. This region was well observed and persisted for approximately ten days. It made central meridian transit on about May 12, 1959. At this time a tremendous flux of solar protons was observed by the Minnesota cosmic ray group. (Author)
