BENDING MODE TEST,

Abstract

The bending mode test was conducted to confirm and supplement existing information concerning control system stability parameters of a full scale Atlas missile with several simulated payloads. The parameters involved included the natural damping factors, the frequencies, and the mode shapes of the elastic bending modes, and the sloshing modes. This information was obtained by vibrating an Atlas missile in the upright position. (Author)
