ADAPTING TELEMETERING TO THE AZUSA TRANSPONDER,

Abstract

It is shown that a standard telemetering package may be attached to an Azusa transponder, making use of the Azusa carrier to relay telemetering signals over distances up to 2,000 miles. The system produces data signal-to-noise ratios of 23 db at maximum range using the present Mark II antenna diameter of five (5) feet, a unity gain transponder antenna, and the equivalent of one watt of telemetering transmitter power.
