PROBLEMS OF THE AERIAL BUS.

Abstract

The translation analyzes the problems facing the development of aerial buses (passenger-carrying capacities reaching 500-600 seats). A short history of the growth in the passenger capacities of aircraft is presented. A detailed examination of the number of engines and the type required to power such aircraft is made. The author discusses the effect of the range of such aircraft in determining their configuration and aerodynamic construction. The author concludes that the development of gigantic airplanes is practically and economically feasible but admits that many problems remain to be solved. (Author)
