THE USE OF EXPLOSIVES IN MACHINE BUILDING AND ASSEMBLYING (VYUZITI STRELIVIN VE STROJIRENSKE VYROBE A PRI MONTAZNICH PRACICH),

Abstract

A method and equipment for explosive joining of cables and wires, cutting of materials, die forging, hole punching, marking, and cold welding has been developed in Czechoslovakia. Three devices which are presently in use operate on the same principle and consist of an explosion chamber where the charge is detonated, a barrel with a punch, and a die holding the material to be formed. In some cases the piece of material is shot into the die, or both methods can be combined. (Author)
