FORMATION BY EXPLOSION IN SHIPBUILDING (TVARENI VYBUCHEM VE STAVBE LODI),

Abstract

Research and development work in the field of explosive forming in Czechoslovakia is coordinated by the Research Institute of Forming Machines and Technology. This institute developed a process for explosive forming large ship-hull elements made of steel plates 8 mm thick. The process has been successfully used by a Slovak shipyard in Komarno which specializes in building river and coastal vessels. (Author)
